The paintings in the Black + White borrow from the aesthetic of my work in a previous life as a commercial art director and graphic designer. I’m inspired by the simplicity of gestural drawings, graphic forms and minimalism.

The application of rich blacks and bright whites create stark contrast works that make a bold statement.  Measured use of positive and negative space gives the painting a compositional balance that is provocative.
