COLOR.
My work explores the fascinating, shifting relationships of color. And, how it affects human emotions and perceptions; chaos or order.
My process is experimental. I'm not so much a ''make-it-happen'' artist as a ''let-it-happen'' one.
I follow a course of layering oil and letting it dry between applications. This technique holds onto some of the evolution of the painting. Colors may overlap to create a new hue or a mysterious iridescence. My intention is to allow some layers to offer a glimpse of my process or better yet, a surprising outcome.
I apply the paint with a variety of tools including brushes, brayers, cardboard scrapers, oil bars, cotton swabs, and transfer of paint from wax paper to the surface.
